Have you tried our “Lickimats” yet!? Oh. Em. Gee. I have so
much fun creating them for my pups! Not only do I have fun, but my dogs LOVE
them too!
Lickimats come in a few different designs. What makes them
so great, you ask? Lickimats are great for mealtime enrichment and help reduce
boredom and anxiety, which in turn helps promote calm behavior. The licking
action releases a calming hormone in both dogs and cats. Another benefit - Oral
Health! Lickimats stimulate your pet’s tongue, which increases saliva
production and helps clean the tongue, teeth, and gums.
Here are a few of the creations I experimented with. Get
creative! That’s the fun part! Each of my meals were frozen for a few hours and
then given to my dogs to make it last longer. You don’t have to freeze them, but
it made it harder for my bigger dogs. For one of my chihuahuas, freezing the
lickimat made it a little too hard for him, so I won’t freeze his anymore as it
makes him give up quicker.
This one is made of Natural Sunbutter, Answer’s Pet Food
Kefir, and organic bananas! A lot of peanut butters are made with xylitol,
which is toxic for your pet. If you do want peanut butter, please make sure its
natural and xylitol free.
The next example is made with Raw Turkey, bits of Ziwipeak, plain
organic yogurt, and topped with a Grandma Lucy’s Organic Lemon/Honey Bear
