Summer at Hungry Hound Has Been So Much Fun

If you've stopped by Hungry Hound this summer, you've probably noticed one thing: we've been busy having fun.

One of our favorite things about what we do is creating opportunities for pet lovers to get together, learn something new, and make new memories with their dogs. And this summer has been full of exactly that.

From Sticker Saturdays and Lick It Like It's Hot to community events and farmers markets, we've loved seeing so many familiar faces (and plenty of new ones too).

Sticker Saturdays have become a favorite tradition

What started as a simple event has become one of our favorite ways to connect with our community. We love seeing the outfits you bring your pets in to match our theme and the smiles on your faces when we give you your stickers.

Whether your dog is striking a perfect pose or making the goofiest face imaginable, there's something special about turning those moments into stickers you can keep.

This is an event that never gets old to us, and we can’t wait to spend many more Sticker Saturdays with all of you.

Lick It Like It's Hot has been even better than we imagined

If you've been to one of our Lick It Like It's Hot events, you already know how much fun they are.

Your pups get the chance to build their own enrichment creations using all kinds of tasty toppings, while you get to learn a little more about enrichment and nutrition.

These events have become such a fun way to introduce enrichment to families who may have never tried it before, while giving experienced enrichment enthusiasts an excuse to get creative.

And let's be real, it's pretty hard not to smile when a dog gets handed a fully loaded lick mat.

Getting out into the community

This summer has also given us the chance to spend more time out in the community.

We were so excited to join the Cedar Lake Farmers Market for the first time this year. We got everything set up, met our vendor neighbors, and thought, "This is going to be a great day."

About an hour later, Mother Nature had other plans.

Out of nowhere, a huge storm rolled in, and suddenly everyone was sprinting around trying to save tents, products, signs, you name it. We were helping neighboring vendors packing up canopies, chasing anything that looked like it wanted to become airborne, and laughing through the chaos, because what else can you do?

Thankfully everyone made it through, and it gave us a pretty unforgettable first farmers market story. Since then, we've loved being part of the Cedar Lake community and meeting so many fellow pet lovers at each market. Hopefully the weather behaves itself for the rest of the season!

One of the things we love most about these events is that they allow us to meet people who may not have discovered Hungry Hound otherwise. Many of those quick conversations turn into lasting relationships, and that's something we never take for granted.

More than just a pet store

At the end of the day, these events remind us that Hungry Hound has always been about more than pet food and grooming.

It's about helping people find solutions for their pets. It's about celebrating the bond we share with our dogs and cats. It's about bringing pet lovers together and creating a place where people feel welcome.
