The most abundant medium-chain fatty acid (MCFA) found in coconut oil is lauric acid, which is considered responsible for many of coconut oil’s health benefits. Coconut oil is about 50% lauric acid - the only other abundant source of lauric acid found in nature is in human breast milk, which is undoubtedly the most perfect food found in nature. Breast milk is designed to nourish and build the immune system and protect infants against illnesses and infection. The medium-chain fatty acids in breast milk improve nutrient absorption, aid digestive function, help regulate blood sugar levels, and protect the baby from harmful microorganisms. The baby’s immature immune system is supported by the antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiparasitic properties of these vital fatty acids.  In the same way, the medium chain fatty acids found in coconut oil provide support for a healthy immune system.

A delicious treat for your dog or cat, CocoTherapy® Coconut Chips are made from dehydrated organic coconut meat. The dried coconut flakes are made of pure, 100% organic coconut meat, with absolutely NO sugars, salt, preservatives, or chemicals added. These coconut chips are raw and dehydrated slowly at a low temperature, 98.6° F (37° C). This keeps the nutrients intact, resulting in a raw coconut that tastes fresh, has a wonderful texture, and contains all the rich nutrients found in fresh coconuts.

CocoTherapy® Coconut Chips provide highly digestible fiber to support and maintain gastrointestinal health, while providing all the nutritional benefits of coconut oil. Many pets love the rich, slightly nutty taste of the treats. You can give a few treats throughout the day or sprinkle in food.

BENEFITS OF COCONUT FIBER:
- Rich source of dietary fiber
- Supports digestive and intestinal health
- Supports healthy weight management

Are all dehydrated coconut chips the same?  No.

CocoTherapy coconut chips are not the same as the shredded dehydrated coconut found in the baking aisle in the supermarket. The shredded dehydrated coconut in the supermarket aisle is not from organic fresh coconut meat and often times, it is dried in kilns or heat and can contain preservatives, chemicals, or sugar. Do not feed dehydrated coconut found in the baking aisle to your pet!

CocoTherapy Coconut Chips are made specifically for maximum digestibility, while the traditional dehydrated coconut chips are not. CocoTherapy Coconut Chips are uniquely developed to be easily digestible for animals, and easily assimilated in the body, while providing all the beneficial nutrients from medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA). Unlike other dehydrated coconut chips or flakes available in your grocery aisles or even health food stores, CocoTherapy coconut chips break down easily and quickly with just water.

Just about everyone working at the Hungry Hound, as well as many of our customers, have added coconut to their pet’s diet.  My dog, Lottie, acts like she is getting a spoonful of ice cream when I give coconut oil to her.  She absolutely loves it!  Although Lottie thinks she’s just getting a treat, I know that I’m adding something really healthy and beneficial to her diet.
